How to Pin a Location in Google Maps
Here are the steps you can follow to drop a pin location in Google Maps on Android, iOS and desktop. Also read- Google Maps is getting Nearest Traffic feature on Android

- Open Google Maps App
- Long press on the desired location, and now you will see a red pin at that location
- You’ll see a bunch of options for that location at the bottom
- Now you can start navigating by tapping on “Guidelines”, “Start”
- Users also get the option to “save” and “share” the pin location on other social media channels including WhatsApp
You can also label this pin location on the app by tapping on the “Labels” option. Then just add the type of location (school/university, gym, etc.).
You can save pin locations in three categories: Favorites, Want to Go, and Starred Locations. You can add or remove lists and categories in the app. Users can also choose whether these lists are private, public, or shared with other users. On Google Maps, users can create groups with other specific users where they can all share location by pin and plan their trips.
