Airtel is the first Telecom to provide FTTH services in Andaman and Nicobar

Bharti Airtel has become the first private internet service provider in India to launch FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) services through Airtel Xstream Fiber in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Airtel Xstream Fiber Now Available in Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Starting today, residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands now have access to Airtel Bharti’s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband service. Buyers can get Airtel Xstream Box with OTT subscription on a deposit of Rs 1,499. To get the box now, all you need to do is visit Airtel’s website or reach out to the telco to connect with the customer care team.

Apart from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Airtel Xstream Fiber is available at Leh in Ladakh and Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The private telecom operator is planning to expand its service to nearby areas in the coming months.

According to a statement by Department of Telecommunications (DoT) secretary K Rajaraman, “We congratulate Airtel on launching its FTTH service in Ladakh and Andaman and Nicobar. The commissioning of the undersea cable link between Chennai and Port Blair by the Hon’ble Prime Minister last year as part of the Digital India vision of the Government has brought high-speed data connectivity to the region. It is encouraging to see the initiative of private operators like Airtel to bring high-speed broadband to the citizens in the region.

For the unversed, Bharti Airtel recently launched India’s first multiplex, Xstream Multiplex, on the Partynight Metaverse platform. Xstream Multiplex is an extension of Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering, which recently achieved the 2 million subscriber milestone within 100 days of its launch.
